TOXIC WASTE
I usually purchase the smaller Everclear in the glass bottle to make my medicinals for loved ones at Christmas. I though I'd save a few dollars this time and order the large bottle. So imagine my surprise and shock when I received the large Everclear, finally got the pillow plastic off, wondering why liquid was leaking out of the lid while fighting with the plastic pillow off, then saw that this large bottle is made of soft plastic, so every time I pulled on the pillow cover, the pressure would push liquid out of the soft plastic bottle. That was annoying, but not the worst thing. I think people who purchase everclear in plastic bottles should know that nanoplastic leaches into the everclear because of its volatility/high alcohol content, and what you get is a highly toxic concoction of nanoplastics that NO ONE should ever consume, as nanoplastics cross the blood-brain barrier and cause a number of medical issues. That being said, there was no way I was going to make my medicinals with the TOXIC liquid inside this plastic bottle, and I had no time to find another vendor to purchase everclear from in time for Christmas, so I went empty handed to my friends' and family members' homes. I had a lot of very disappointed people who had been looking forward to this tradition. So just know that unless you enjoy drinking nanoplastics, you might want to pass this one by and get the smaller, more expensive everclear in the glass bottle. It would have been nice if the description had stated that it was in a plastic bottle.

Best spirit Ive ever had the pleasure of enjoying
I dont even know where to start. Im more of a bourbon drinker but this armagnac is a perfect dance between the fruity white grape notes that youd typically get from cognac and the more rugged oak and leather notes that you find in many bourbons. It is truly an experience do be able to enjoy a 25 year bottle of booze without going broke. The nose is green apple, white grape, chocolate. The palate is unbeleivably complex with raisins, caramel, vanilla, oak, earthy, the list goes on and on. The finish is very oak, vanilla and chocolate. Like a dark cocoa cocoa german chocolate. I bought two more bottles after my first glass just because I know armagnac isnt always easy to come by. Again, words dont do justice to this bottle and as a bourbon drinker I have included this in my top occasion bottles.

Disappointed
I absolutely LOVE absinthe, so I set out to try as many as I could find, which has generally been a frustrating challenge. I had high hopes for this one, based on reviews (on other sites) and the elevated price. But price doesn’t always equate to preference, and I’m disappointed. I can’t criticize the overall quality of the product, because it has a “sophisticated” flavor. It’s just not a flavor that suits my palate. What I taste is less anise than most absinthes, and more of a cognac kind of flavor additive. Not my cup of tea at all. So I did what I often do, even with some preferable absinthes. . . . I added Dr McGillicuddy’s Root Beer Schnapps. And for those of you who like both licorice flavor AND root beer flavor, it is the best flavor combination ever! Still my go-to drink for greatest tasting cocktail ever! But with Lucid absinthe, it only “salvaged” the drink. Again, Lucid somehow seems very sophisticated, and I’m guessing that many will prefer this flavor profile, but for me, I’ll probably stick with Pernod and (Van Gogh) Absente, and maybe a few others.

A really exceptional value for the quality of experience
In large part, this will echo the review Steve-O posted. I'll extend his comparison to bourbon to include fine Scotch and Irish whisky as well. Some of my favorites are becoming difficult if not impossible to find lately - looking at YOU Springbank and Knappogue! This situation left me wandering around the liquor store today looking for a suitable substitute, and this 25-year-old Armagnac caught my eye. An employee of the store noticed me fondling the bottle and said that he felt it was one of the best brandies they had to offer regardless of price. I decided to take a chance on it, and I am NOT disappointed! For a 40% abv spirit, this has a tremendous range of woody, fruity, aromatic flavors and aromas to offer, and it only gets better with time in the glass. For the $70.00 I paid for it, this is one of the best bargains I've found in a long, long time. Because of this Armagnac, in the future I may be spending less time browsing the Scotch aisle. It really feels like making an adjustment and finding there's little if any compromise.

So far, my favorite absinthe
I'm a very light drinker but have wanted to try absinthe for awhile. Ended up buying some from Cheklosovakia and somewhat dissapointed, as the louche effect of adding water was not working, and was one of the main feature's I was looking for. After reading reviews decided to to give the French made La Fee a try. Caskers processed the order quickly with great communication and updates. Had concerns as earlier reviews had said La Fee used artificial colorings, but was happy when the bottle arrived and proclaimed that it was all natural. My first glass demonstrated a huge difference between this and previous absinthes I tried. The louche was opaque and somewhat iridescent. The bouquet was subdued and not very noticeable. The taste was mellow, balanced and pleasant. It was nice and I would not hesitate to purchase again, but really want to try other brands just for comparison.

Nectar. Of. The. Gods.
The first impression is of the color, a chartreuse clarity that grabs your eyes and holds them. One can see why the color was named after the liquor. Upon opening the bottle I was struck by the complex array of aromas that literally assailed my nostrils. After the initial rush, I was able to settle into it and enjoy the pleasant floral tones of the many herbs that comprise this liquor. It was recommended that we sip this liquor cold over ice, so I splashed some over 3 ice cubes. The first sip was both harsh, yet smooth, with medicinal overtones. The flavor developed in the mouth and back of the tongue somewhat slowly and then became this complex array of herbal flavors with a not altogether unpleasant medicinal harshness. We slowly savored this and noticed that as the ice melted and slightly diluted the liquor, the harshness disappeared and we were left with a very smooth complex liquor that had excellent mouth feel. The full array of flavors developed slowly and the floral notes changed the longer one savored the sip on the tongue. With 130 herbs, the combinations of herbal notes was complicated and intense. As with most liquors, this one left a warm feeling in the throat and stomach after swallowing. Without a doubt, the best, most satisfying and sophisticated liquor we have ever enjoyed.

Just damnit...I had *such* high hopes
Okay, so *legit* my favorite tequila on the planet is Clase Azul Reposado.

The combo of delish caramel flavor + smoothness + that bottle looks so damn cool, is all on point. My friend threatened me to a blind tequila challenge & as predicted...my Clase won big ;P.

Now there's this *nonsense* of the mezcal. Lemme be clear: I *love* mezcal (and also sotol). Smoky + herbaceous + magic. But this was some got damn ridiculous *nothing* special idiocy.

I splurged because lockdown. I'm usually a $200 max on a bottle type of chick. Just on principal. But you know...2020, whatcha gonna do.

Let me be clear: this mezcal was *fine*...which is very much NOT what I'm looking for in a $370+ bottle. LITERALLY could've kept the bottle & subbed out for Kirkland Mezcal and *no one* would have noticed a difference.

BUT...you can't...because the bottle itself is shockingly awful.

Okay, to be fair, the cap is *lovely*, and beaded and quite nice. But the bottle is this bizarre (and VERY porous) black like chalk board consistency, but rougher, and worse, and hurts your hand to hold it & scratches *easily*.

I threw it out.

Ya.

In the *trash*.

Did not even turn into a vase. (Did keep the cap & it's now on my current Reposado bottle...so there's that).

It is *beyond* rare for me to leave a bad review. I would've *happily* become a lifelong customer.

But it rankled me so badly that I had ignored the other reviews on google & went ahead with the purchase, that I thought I'd spare you the pain. If you're reading this far...I hope I did.

On that now...just bought 2 more bottles of the Clase Azul Reposado, so...at least there's that ;P. I do still love the company overall, because...complete win on the tequila.

Now, I just need to find the *actual* equivalent mezcal. Sadly....this is *not* that.

Extremely Complex
Currently writing this review as I'm deeply breathing in the scent of this spirit from a decanter. There's absolutely a refreshing floral tone that's more or less catapulted by the strong evaporating odors brought on by it's proof but also by it's definite status as a Kräuterlikör (herbal liquor) like Jägermeister. Now time for the tasting...

Now since this liquer is probably most similar to absinthe in a general sense, I will use absinthe as the reference to note this drink's differences. I'm drinking it chilled and neat. The digestif characteristics become quickly noticed with this one where the flavor transfers instantly from the tongue to the stomach while still lingering in the mouth. The more you sip the warmer the esophagus and stomach become, but it settles quickly. This compared to absinthe where the drink seems to hit the brain and limbs as instantly as this one hits the stomach. The tasting notes are far less bitter and lasting than absinthe. Where absinthe can take on that kind of almost moonshine finish all high octane spirits have, this high octane liqueur could be said to almost have a cough medicine finish. I will say that this just like many liqueurs has an almost creamy texture compared to spirits.

Apologies in advance to all absinthe lovers and connoisseurs as I do not consider myself one and know my comparison reference could be off-key.
