Paquera Mezcal is an artisanal spirit that is co-op grown and produced, 100% sustainable, contains no additives, and is gluten-free. The award-winning mezcal is crafted by a co-op in San Miguel Ejutla, Oaxaca, employing time-tested practices that were perfected over generations by passionate family artisans. The goal is to give back to the community, contributing resources to the Union de Productores Agropecuarios del Distrito de Ejutla de Crespo, a coalition of palenques that was formed in order to work towards the common goal of growing their small enterprises.
There are 3 expressions in the Paquera lineup: the 100% Espadin Mezcal, the 100% Barril Mezcal, and an Ensemble that combines both. The agaves are cooked in underground ovens, crushed by a horse-drawn tahona mill, then left to ferment in awewete wood barrels that are made locally, while the double distillation is done in small batches in copper stills. This ensures that the final product offers a balanced and complex drinking experience. The Barril Mezcal is crafted from 100% barril agaves that take longer than usual to reach full maturity. The premium expression is the smokiest of the 3 and a sipper that deserves to be savored.

Mezcal is a distilled spirit made from roasted agave plants between two days and two weeks, which gives it a distinct smokey flavor. What scotch is for whisk(e)y, mezcal is for tequila.
It can be made from different types of agave in different parts of Mexico, but most of it (60%) comes from the state of Oaxaca. Mezcal offers a large diversity of flavor profiles and ranges between 40 and 55% ABV.
The nose is floral with prominent smoke notes. You'll find earthy, tangy, spicy, and smoky notes on the silky smooth, ripe and lush palate, supported by with deep flavors of orchard fruit, vanilla, and citrus zest. The finish is satisfyingly long, silky, and complex with lingering notes.
