About Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition

Woodford Reserve small batch bourbon whiskeys are crafted from a grain bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley, carefully crafted to balance the sweetness of corn, spiciness of rye and nuttiness of malt. The distillery uses one of the longest fermentation processes in the industry, which, paired with the unique yeast strain, creates great depths of character and complexity of flavors. The whiskey is then carefully distilled in batches in pot and column stills. Woodford Reserve is matured in new, charred white oak barrels, which are made at the distillery’s in-house cooperage.

Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition is where history and heritage meet innovation and sophistication. This whiskey is crafted by uniquely finishing the most complex and balanced Kentucky bourbon in select XO Cognac barrels sourced by Master Distiller Chris Morris. Morris selects only the finest barrels, which previously held cognac for three seasons. The result is the best of both spirits – a perfect balance of crisp American and French oak notes. Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition comes in a bespoke Baccarat decanter, handmade by masters at the famous French manufacturer of fine crystal.

About Woodford Reserve

The Woodford Reserve Distillery sits on what was once an old Distillery founded by Elijah and his son, Oscar Pepper, in the 1800s. Years later, under the stewardship of Oscar and Master Distiller James Crow, their distillery reformed and modernized producing whiskey in the United States — the distillery revolutionized the concepts of sour mash and yeast propagation.

Today, the distillery is among Kentucky's oldest and smallest bourbon distilleries. Nestled in the heart of the Commonwealth's thoroughbred country, it's the only place you'll find bourbon and horses maturing side by side. It's also one of a handful of spirits companies in the world to own a cooperage and craft its barrels, allowing for ultimate precision when creating exact toast and char specifications.

About American Whiskey

There are two main representatives of the American whiskey family, bourbon, and rye, but some other spirits don't fall into those two strictly regulated categories.

There's equally strictly regulated American single malt, made from 100% malted barley, Tennessee whiskey, essentially bourbon filtered through maple charcoal and aged in new charred oak barrels.

And then there's moonshine, a high proof (150- 170 proof) distilled spirit mainly made out of corn which gained popularity during the prohibition.

Check out our impressive selection of American single malts, or find your new favorite in our rich whisk(e)y selection, and get familiarized with what the world has to offer.

Rich toasted oak dusted with chocolate and cocoa notes, creamy vanilla bean, and hints of clove and cinnamon spice cover a deep layer of dried fruit and citrus peel on the nose. The palate has notes of elegant vanilla, dark chocolate, and dried fruit and creamy caramel top layers of rich malt and oak. The finish is velvety with a long delicately spiced caramel mocha note.
