About Teeling Wonders Of Wood Chinkapin Oak Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey

Founded in 2012, the Teeling Whiskey Company was the first new distillery in Dublin in 125 years. It was set up by Jack Teeling with two goals: to revive the family trademark and bring whiskey production back to Dublin, once a lively distilling city with families such as the Teelings producing quality Irish whiskey. In 2022, the progressive distillery launched the first release in the limited-edition Wonders of Wood series that aims to explore what their Irish pot-still whiskey is capable of through unique woods used for its maturation. The first release was triple-distilled in Dublin from a recipe of 50% malted barley and 50% unmalted barley. Then, the pot still whiskey was matured exclusively in virgin chinkapin American white oak casks before being bottled with no chill filtration at 100 proof.

About Teeling

In 1782, Walter Teeling opened a distillery along Marrowbone Lane in Dublin, Ireland. At the time, nearly 40 independent distilleries dotted the rolling Irish landscape, the majority of which were centralized in the industrial engine room of the city — the Liberties. "Since 1782 the Teeling family has been crafting Irish Whiskey," says Jack Teeling, the founder of the Teeling Whiskey Company. "The entrepreneurial spirit that inspired Walter Teeling back in the 18th century has not been diluted over the years and the latest generation of Teelings are committed to innovating and creating unique Irish whiskeys."
