The Story

About Resilient Bottled In Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Brian Ciske is a veteran of the spirits industry. He's the owner of BC Merchants, a distributor that has been in business since 1999. Through the years, Brian has sourced countless barrels of whisk(e)y, traveling to Scotland yearly in search of the finest spirits. He's the mastermind behind Resilient, a brand that is focused on seeking out exceptional barrels of whiskey and sharing them with the world in the form of single-barrel releases where transparency is paramount.

Hand-selected by Ciske, each barrel is thoroughly inspected and tested for the balance of grain and wood, as well as flavors and aromas. The Bottled in Bond Straight Bourbon is balanced in very small batches of 4 barrels or so. Distilled in Indiana, it features a high-rye MGP mash bill of 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% barley. Aged in 53-gallon newly charred American oak casks (char #4) for 4 years, the whiskey is bottled in Stanford, Kentucky. Being a bottled-in-bond expression, it clocks in at 100 proof. It's a delicious sipper with toffee, fruit, caramel, and vanilla notes, along with a healthy dose of baking spice.

Tasting Notes

The nose is rich with toffee, cooked pears, vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, and clove aromas. The palate features a balance of fruit and spice notes, culminating in a layered finish with the sweetness and spice lingering for a good long while.
