About Sazerac Single Barrel Select Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey

Sazerac Single Barrel Select Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is the embodiment of New Orleans' vibrant history and tradition. This is not just a whiskey; it's a delightful journey back to the 1800s when saloons, cleverly disguised as coffee houses, were the heart of New Orleans' social scene. It was here that the "Sazerac," America's first branded cocktail, was born. Now, the classic Sazerac Rye is available as a limited-edition single barrel select that's limited to a scant 192 bottles. Crafted from a rye mash recipe, this whiskey is predominantly made from rye grain, with corn adding a flavorful twist. Aged for at least four years and bottled at a hearty 90 proof, this rare treat is elegantly adorned with a ribbon, making it a perfect gift as well. The whiskey's rich mahogany appearance invites you in, while your nose is captivated by an intriguing blend of clove, vanilla, anise, and pepper. On the palate, it offers delightful hints of sweet and spiced flavors, complemented by a touch of citrus. The finish? Silky smooth, leaving a gentle hint of licorice lingering on your taste buds.

About Rye

As American as the bald eagle, rye whiskey was first brewed in the American Northeast in the 1600s. Even George Washington distilled it after leaving the Oval Office, so there’s no way of denying its origin.
It’s distinguished from bourbon for its original and unique spicy notes.

By law, rye whiskey must be made from at least 51% rye grain, aged in new and charred oak barrels for at least two years, and bottled at no more than 62,5% ABV.
