About Midleton Very Rare 2022 Irish Whiskey

Being a Master Distiller in any distillery is a highly distinguished and creative job, but being a Master Distiller at Midleton distillery will truly take you straight to the history books. Midleton has been giving its Master distillers a chance to create their own signature Irish whiskey - a Midleton Very Rare, a Vintage release, since 1984. Talk about job perks! 2022 Very Rare has been created by Kevin O’Gorman. For months, O’Gorman has been exploring Midleton’s excessive inventory to eventually come up with a unique and amazingly balanced blend of rare and hand-selected single-pot still and single-grain Irish whiskeys that is nothing short of impressive. The selection of whiskies was aged from 12 to 33 years in lightly charred ex-bourbon American oak barrels. This exceptional blend, filled with poise and layers of flavor, is worthy of any whisky connoisseur or collector.

Don’t miss your chance to taste this journey through the Midleton’s finest and grab your bottle today!

About Midleton

"Part of the reason I started a distillery has to do with my family lineage," says Ryan Lang, the master distiller at Middle West Spirits. "There's four generations of distillers blood in my veins, although I might be the first generation to do this legally." Situated in a 10,000 square-foot warehouse in the heart of the Ohio River Valley, Middle West Spirits was founded in 2008 by Lang, together with his business partner, Brady Konya, a marketing wizard. Together, the pair marry modern distillation techniques with traditional craftsmanship and the finest ingredients — and it's working.

About Irish Whiskey

Contrary to popular belief that Scots invented whisk(e)y, Irish whiskey was mentioned almost a century before its Scottish brother.

Its origin comes from the perfume distilling monks who decided to tweak the recipe a bit, creating Irish whiskey.

Irish whiskey doesn’t have a lot of rules and regulations to be considered “pure” and can be made with various grains and processes, as long as it is aged for at least three years in wooden casks and has a max ABV of 94.8%.

The enchanting aroma of 2022 Very Rare is fruit-forward: notes of mandarin and candid apple are soon replaced by white pepper, nutmeg, chocolate, toffee, and charred oak. The palate is luscious and decadent with notes of orange zest, caramelized apples, pot still spices, and cereal. The finish seems to last forever, caressing your taste buds with pot-still spices and charred oak.
