UFC superstar Conor McGregor, who is still heavily involved with the Proper No Twelve since he sold it, and David Elder, master distiller of Proper No Twelve, previously of Guinness Brewery, present Proper No. Twelve Apple Irish Whiskey. This whiskey is the original Proper No Twelve blend of triple distilled malt and grain aged for four years in bourbon barrels, that was presented in 2018 and became an instant hit on the American market, but with a sweet, tart addition of an Irish apple. The apple changes everything. This Irish Whisky becomes a sweeter variation of its previous version that also wins a nice crisp and fresh finish, making it perfect to enjoy neat or with a splash of water. Bottled at an ABV of 35%, this is a drink that could absolutely improve any of your cocktails as well.

About Proper No. Twelve

"I come from a place called Crumlin, in Dublin 12. It's a place dear to my heart. It's where I learned how to fight; it made me who I am today. It's a place I'm still very much a part of every single day of my life. So, that's where the name came from. It's proper Irish whiskey and twelve is my hometown," said McGregor.

Launched September of 2018, McGregor's dreams of having his own Irish whiskey have been brought to life. "Growing up on the streets of Dublin 12, I learned the values of loyalty and hard work. I respect other Irish whiskeys, but I am coming in strong, with passion and with purpose. I am the founder of this company and I am going to give it my all."

About Irish Whiskey

Contrary to popular belief that Scots invented whisk(e)y, Irish whiskey was mentioned almost a century before its Scottish brother.

Its origin comes from the perfume distilling monks who decided to tweak the recipe a bit, creating Irish whiskey.

Irish whiskey doesn’t have a lot of rules and regulations to be considered “pure” and can be made with various grains and processes, as long as it is aged for at least three years in wooden casks and has a max ABV of 94.8%.

Tasting Notes

The nose is met with aromas of apple, vanilla, floral barley, and sandalwood. You can taste the sweetness and tartness of apple as well, followed by notes of orchard fruit and honey, along with some pepper. The finish is crisp and fresh.
