About Devils River Distiller's Select Texas Mash Bill Bourbon Whiskey

Devils River whiskey is known for using special methods, distilling in traditional copper pot stills. Their Distiller's Select Straight Bourbon starts with 100% Texas grains that come from a co-op of Texas farmers, making it a true grain-to-glass whiskey. After distillation, the bourbon matures in new American oak (char #3) casks for more than 2 years, the hot Texas climate speeding up the process and imparting the spirit with complex flavors and rich color. Finally, the whiskey is cut to 120 proof with spring water from the Devils River region. The resulting bourbon is powerful with plenty of spice notes, as well as a surprising oakiness that speaks volumes about the scorching Texas heat and the influence it has on maturation.

About Devils River

Based out of Frisco, Texas, Devils River Whiskey was founded by Mike Cameron, co-founder of Rebecca Creek Whiskey, and president of the Texas Distilled Spirits Association. Their 90-proof bourbon is crafted from the pure Devils River spring waters. Texas Ranger John Coffee Hays named this great waterway the "Devils River" in 1840. The naturally-filtered limestone spring water is considered the purest water in Texas.

In college, Cameron would take frequent trips to the feisty Southwest Texas river, the tributary of the Del Rio that would inspire the name of his new whiskey label. Devil’s River whiskey is distilled using a signature method, in traditional copper pot stills designed for distilling complex, flavorful, dark spirits.
