The Bardstown Bourbon Company is an ultra-modern operation from the Bourbon Capital of the World, Bardstown, Kentucky. They pride themselves on keeping true to tradition yet taking innovative and bold steps in producing exceptional bourbon, whiskey, and rye. One of the most technically sophisticated distilleries in the United States, it's set on a 100-acre stretch of farmland that is part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and offers a full experience with tours, as well as a complete restaurant in the form of the Bottle & Bond Kitchen and Bar. The distillery’s team, headed by Master Distiller Steve Nally, who has over 40 years of experience in the spirits industry, produces almost 40 unique mash bills for some of the finest whiskeys on the market, including Jefferson's, High West, Belle Meade, Calumet, James E. Pepper, and Cyrus Noble.

Discovery Series #5 is a blend of 4 straight bourbons from 4 different distilleries: 31% is a 13YO Kentucky bourbon with a mash bill of 74% corn, 18% rye, and 8% malted barley. 24% is a 17YO Tennessee bourbon with a mash bill of 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malted barley. 25% is a 7YO Kentucky bourbon (78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley). The final 19% is a Kentucky bourbon (75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley) that's aged 6 years. It's a unique and smooth expression that is bottled at cask strength ―104.7 proof.

Tasting Notes

The nose opens with aromas of cherry, caramel, roasted marshmallow, and a touch of orange peel. On the palate, you'll find light tannic notes, vanilla, caramel, hints of nuts & orange, and a pleasantly warming finish.
