About Smokehead Sherry Bomb Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Ian Macleod Distillers' Smokehead brand has its roots in 2006 when the Islay single malt was first released. While the NAS whisky comes from an undisclosed distillery, it's full of the peat smoke character that Islay is famous for. 2018 saw the brand refresh its lineup with High Voltage and Sherry Bomb. The latter is a 96-proof single malt that's rich, sweet, and spicy, having been matured in Oloroso sherry casks from Spain.

About Scotch
Scotch is the most popular whisky in the world and is considered the king of them all! There are five whisky regions in Scotland (six if you count the not officially recognized Islands), and each of them produces spirits with unique properties and distinct tasting notes. (The type of grain used determents the type of the scotch.)
Malt whisky is made of malted barley, and grain whisky uses other grains like corn or wheat. Most of the time, a whisky is blended from different distilleries hence the name blended scotch, but if a malt whisky is produced in a single distillery, we get something extraordinary called a single malt.
The nose is fruity with berries and a touch of caramel sweetness giving way to plenty of smoke and sea spray, along with floral touches. The palate is sweet and fruity with caramel, toffee, berries, oak, and a touch of nuttiness. The balance of fruit and smoke shine throughout, lingering on the finish.
