About Recuerdo Mezcal Reposado 5”KO Limited Edition
Mezcal, a spirit that can be distilled from more than 14 known agaves, has been around for more than 400 years. Due to its designation of origin, it can only be produced in 9 states of Mexico, the most representative being Oaxaca.
Situated in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, Casa Armando Guillermo Prieto is the leading mezcal distillery in Mexico, based on five generations of experience, a rich cultural heritage, and a great love for Oaxaca. It is strictly committed to sustainable production with its own animal-cruelty-free Método Verde sustainability program and Clean Industry certificate by the Mexican Ministry. It is also a Kosher certified distillery with its own wastewater treatment plan, rainwater collecting system and solar panels. The CAGP's mission is to preserve Oaxaca's natural environment for generations to come. Their three Mezcal brands are El Recuerdo Mezcal, SEÑORÍO Mezcal and Zignum Mezcal, all of them in the top 10 most sold and recognized brands in Mexico.
El Recuerdo Mezcal is crafted with choice espadin agave using traditional techniques. The agave is cooked over river rocks using pine and oak wood ― both collected sustainably ― the rocks come from higher elevations of Oaxaca's valley rivers, the wood is certified by the Mexican ministry of environmental protection. El Recuerdo Mezcal 5"KO Reposado is a limited-edition expression that pays tribute to the legendary UFC match where Jorge "Gamebred" Masvidal (Recuerdo Mezcal shareholder) recorded the fastest knockout in UFC history, only 5 seconds into the fight. The expression spent 5 months in American oak and is the only mezcal with 5 gusanos (agave worms) that are known to add smoothness to the spirit.
