Càirdeas ("friendship" in Gaelic") is an annual release from Laphroaig, the acclaimed Islay distillery known for its peaty Scotch. The limited-edition expression celebrates friendship and is crafted under the watchful eye of Distillery Manager John Campbell. Càirdeas 2021 is a triple-matured Scotch that was first matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks, then quarter casks, and finally PX sherry European oak casks. Bottled at a cask strength of 117.8 proof, it's a complex whisky that's full of character with notes of smoke, honey, oak spice, nuts, and toffee.

About Scotch

Tasting Notes

Medicinal, nutty, and sweet aromas greet the nose with tar, almond, praline, marzipan, apple, toffee, dark fruit, and a touch of cinnamon. The palate is peaty with ash and cured ham balanced by honey, licorice, apple, and oak spice. The finish is warm and spicy with a touch of brine.
