About Yankee Distillers Colonial White Rum

Yankee Distillers is the Capital Region’s largest craft distillery. The producers offer premium New York State farm products. Yankee Distillers are proud supporters of local agriculture, as a New York State farm distillery, Yankee Distillers use a minimum of 75% New York State raw materials in their spirit, and use 100% unmalted New York State Grain for their Bourbon, Rye, and Vodka.

Handcrafted from a blend of Caribbean and domestic molasses, this Colonial White Rum has notes of vanilla and butterscotch on the nose. Bright tropical notes shine through on the palate offering rich, earthy flavors of the sugar cane, followed by a long, creamy butterscotch finish.

About Rum

Rum history allegedly started in the Carribiens in the 17th century when they started to ferment and distill molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. Most of the Rum is aged in oak or ex-wine casks, giving its color and flavor.

We distinguish between 4 different Rum categories, where white or unaged rum is mainly used in cocktails, while dark, spiced, and añejo (aged) rum are mostly enjoyed neat.
