About Woody Creek Distillers Roaring Fork GinSituated in the valley of the Roaring Fork River, Basalt is a little mountain village at the heart of the Rocky Mountains, 15 miles west of Aspen, Colorado. This is the home of Woody Creek Distillers, a craft distillery founded in 2012 by Mary and Pat Scanlan and Mark Kleckner with a simple mission – to make the finest craft spirits with unique taste and character, honoring and protecting their origins and natural resources.
A grain to glass distillery, the grain is grown and harvested on their family farm and on the farms of their neighbors in Colorado. Boasting their own custom CARL stills, Woody Creek never uses spirits from neutral grain spirits or blends with base spirits from other distillers. Instead, every element of production from farm to bottle is controlled at Woody Creek Distillers. Their award-winning portfolio ranges from Potato Vodka, made from Rio Grande potatoes, grown on their farm, Colorado 100% Straight Rye, Roaring Fork Gin and Colorado Bourbon.
Woody Creek Roaring Fork Gin is crafted from pure potato spirit, made from the very same locally harvested Rio Grande potatoes found in Woody Creek award-winning vodka. This spirit is then redistilled with local juniper berries, handpicked by Master Distiller David Matthews himself. Roaring Fork Gin is a mix of old-world, classic London Dry gin and new-world gin, featuring 13 botanicals, including fresh lemongrass, coriander, cinnamon, angelica, hibiscus, lavender, cranberries, grains of paradise, fresh orange & lemon peel, and lime wedge. A smooth and satiny spirit, it’s bottled at 94 proof and batch distilled. Perfect for any classic cocktail.

According to Winston Churchill, "The gin and tonic has saved more Englishmen's lives and minds than all the doctors in the Empire," referring to the British officers using it to treat malaria in India.
Initially made for medicinal purposes, gin gets most of its flavor from the juniper berries added after the distillation process. It sure has come a long way from the Middle Ages, with the introduction of new botanicals, fruits, and spices, bringing it closer to people of all flavor varieties.
