Good friends and former corporate lads Chris Frederickson, Jared Rapp, and Moti Goldring launched Traverse City Whiskey Co. in 2012 to escape their daily grind and strengthen their friendship bond. What prompted this idea was Chris’ finding of his grandfathers’ set of distilling patents among a stack of old artifacts—a true hidden gem! Traverse City Whiskey Co. American Cherry Bourbon Whiskey comes from a multi-generational cherry-producing family, made with Montmorency cherries grown on Frederickson’s farm. It is a sumptuously smooth whiskey that stands at 35 % and is infused with succulent cherries, followed by demerara sugar and cinnamon notes.

About Traverse City Whiskey Co.

Three former corporate types and whiskey buffs, Chris, Jared, and Moti, decided to ditch the 9-to-5 grind and start making tasty spirits that people would genuinely appreciate. They founded their distillery in Traverse City, Michigan, more than a decade ago. While rummaging through his family’s farm storage, Chris stumbled upon a set of old distilling patents from the Prohibition era. These patents were not only fascinating but also added an extra touch of nostalgia and inspiration to their distilling craft.

Tasting Notes

It features notes of maraschino cherries, cinnamon spice, and simple sugar syrup on the nose. The palate opens with a medium body of tart cherries, followed by vanilla, citrus, and cola spice flavors. It closes on a pleasing metallic cherry note.
