About Samaroli 19 Year Old 1996 Speyside Blended Malt Scotch Whisky

Born in Bologna, Italy, just over 70 years ago, Silvano Samaroli has been hand-selecting and bottling the world's finest whiskies since 1968. When he began his career, Samaroli was the only non-British independent bottler in the world. Today, bottlers such as Compass Box Whisky Co. and Gordon & MacPhail have joined Samaroli in blending casks to produce a whisky greater than the sum of its parts.

Samaroli Speyside Blended Malt is a vatting of single casks whiskies from Benriach and Glentauchers, the whiskies were aged for 19 years in American oak before being bottled in 2015. You can expect complex notes of peaches, pears, on the nose with light cream. The palate is light and creamy with a delightful citrus followed by a decadent white chocolate finish! This superb Samaroli is bottled at 43% ABV.

About Scotch

Scotch is the most popular whisky in the world and is considered the king of them all! There are five whisky regions in Scotland (six if you count the not officially recognized Islands), and each of them produces spirits with unique properties and distinct tasting notes. (The type of grain used determents the type of the scotch.)

Malt whisky is made of malted barley, and grain whisky uses other grains like corn or wheat. Most of the time, a whisky is blended from different distilleries hence the name blended scotch, but if a malt whisky is produced in a single distillery, we get something extraordinary called a single malt.
