About Parker's Heritage Collection 16th Edition Double Barreled Blend Kentucky Straight Burbon Whiskey

Heaven Hill releases a new entry in their Heritage Collection once per year, every fall. Released in 2022, this expression is the 16th whiskey in the series that aims to explore and innovate. It's a blend of 13-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon (67% of the blend) that was double-barreled for 4 weeks before being blended with a 15-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon (33%). The younger bourbon was distilled in 2008 and matured in Rickhouse Q, then transferred into new American oak casks (level 3 char) for another 4 weeks. The 15-year-old bourbon was distilled in 2007 in Rickhouse II. Both feature the same mash bill of 78% corn, 10% rye, and 12% malted barley. The final blend was bottled uncut and non-chill filtered at 132.2 proof, preserving the complex aromas and flavors of oak and spice. It's "a masterful pairing of two uniquely aged products that create the perfect balance of flavors which, we believe, honor the past and are a fitting tribute to Parker and his legacy," said Vice President Susan Wahl at the time of release.

Tasting Notes

The nose opens with enticing oak aromas, as well as cherry, caramel, honey, and marshmallow. The palate is rich with dark fruit, berry, vanilla, spice, and a touch of leather. Charred oak, dark fruit, and baking spices linger on the finish.
