Founded in 1898 by an influential French statesman, the single estate that produces Labiette Castille Bas Armagnacs was purchased by the Lesgourges family in 1974. It is situated in the Bas Armagnac region, famous for having one of the finest terroirs of the Armagnac AOC (appellation d'origine contrôlée ― controlled designation of origin).
Located at the foot of the Pyrenees Mountains, the terroir features a mix of sand and clay that is perfect for vineyards ― on their 260 acres of vineyards you can find Ugni Blanc, Baco, Colombard, and Folle Blanche varieties. The environmentally friendly and sustainable estate has a flock of sheep grazing throughout, providing natural organic fertilizer. In 1998 a 40-acre forest was planted, providing oak for their very own cooperage. They pride themselves on their premium Armagnac with an emphasis on traceability, authenticity, and environmental friendliness. The design of the brand features a tribute to D'Artagnan, the famous musketeer.
Labiette Castille XO Bas Armagnac combines 30 different brandies, aged between 15 and 25 years, into one luscious expression with aromatic finesse and supple flavor. Ugni Blanc and Colombard grapes take the center stage with some additions of Baco and Folle Blanche. Each grape variety is distilled separately using an alembic still. They are aged separately as well in Gascony oak casks. Finally, Cellar Master François Lasportes blends the varieties and vintages into this wonderful expression.

Brandy is typically produced from distilled wine and other fermented fruit juices like apples, pears, and other sweet fruits.
It is a perfect after-dinner digestif served neat or slightly warmed by holding the glass with your hands.
The kick can vary between 70-120 proof, and it gets its flavor from aging in wooden casks.
The aromas are layered with orange zest, prune, cinnamon, cocoa, hazelnut, candied fruit, and a touch of nuttiness with almonds. The notes are mirrored on the palate that is equally complex and exquisitely balanced, culminating in a long and elegant finish.
