This Armagnac is crafted entirely with grapes from the Labiette Castille estate. Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes are used mostly with additional Baco and Colombard. Each is distilled and aged separately before the 15 components (aged 6 to 12 years) are blended by the Cellar Master.

Founded in 1898 by an influential French statesman, the single estate that produces Labiette Castille Bas Armagnacs was purchased by the Lesgourges family in 1974. It is situated in the Bas Armagnac region, famous for having one of the finest terroirs of the Armagnac AOC (appellation d'origine contrôlée ― controlled designation of origin).
Located at the foot of the Pyrenees Mountains, the terroir features a mix of sand and clay that is perfect for vineyards ― on their 260 acres of vineyards you can find Ugni Blanc, Baco, Colombard, and Folle Blanche varieties. The environmentally friendly and sustainable estate has a flock of sheep grazing throughout, providing natural organic fertilizer. In 1998 a 40-acre forest was planted, providing oak for their very own cooperage. They pride themselves on their premium Armagnac with an emphasis on traceability, authenticity, and environmental friendliness. The design of the brand features a tribute to D'Artagnan, the famous musketeer.
Labiette Castille AOC Bas Armagnac VSOP is crafted with 15 brandies, aged between 6 and 12 years. The balanced, smooth, and round expression is crafted mainly with Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes with additional Baco and Colombard. Each of these is distilled separately using an alembic still and aged in Gascony oak, before finally being blended by Cellar Master François Lasportes and bottled at 80 proof.
