About Fords Gin Officers' Reserve Navy Strength Gin
Fords Gin is distilled at Thames Distillers in London in collaboration with eleventh-generation Master Distiller Charles Maxwell. The gin came to be when founder Simon Ford set out to create the ultimate cocktail gin. Together with a group of bartenders, distillers, and professional drinkers, he settled on the 9-botanical recipe with juniper berries from Italy, coriander seeds from Romania, lemon peel from Spain, orange peels from Haiti and Morocco, grapefruit peels from Turkey, angelica from Poland, cassia from Indonesia, jasmine from China and orris root from Italy. Released in 2019, Officers' Reserve Navy Strength Gin is crafted with the same botanicals, then rested in Amontillado sherry casks for 3 weeks before being bottled at 109 proof.

About Fords Gin
If you were ever wondering how many attempts it takes to create a perfect Cocktail Gin, it’s 83. And that’s only if you work in the world of Spirits for over 20 years, as Simon Ford, founder of Fords Gin, did. On the famous 83rd attempt he came up with a recipe of 9 botanicals that meet in a symphony of flavors versatile enough to be enjoyed in Gin Tonic, Martini, Bees Knees, or any other gin-centered cocktail you can think of. It just fits anywhere. The main reason is the botanicals. Sourced exclusively through Joseph Flatch & Sons Ltd., the same company that has been supplying London gin houses with pure botanicals since 1882, all nine botanicals of Fords Gin are extremely pure and rich.
According to Winston Churchill, "The gin and tonic has saved more Englishmen's lives and minds than all the doctors in the Empire," referring to the British officers using it to treat malaria in India.
Initially made for medicinal purposes, gin gets most of its flavor from the juniper berries added after the distillation process. It sure has come a long way from the Middle Ages, with the introduction of new botanicals, fruits, and spices, bringing it closer to people of all flavor varieties.
The nose is piney with juniper, vanilla, nuts, and a touch of baking spices. Look for dried fruit, juniper, citrus, vanilla, and spice on the balanced palate that leads to a spicy and warm finish.
