About Doc Swinson's Doc Swinson's Exploratory Cask French Toasted Straight Bourbon Whiskey
The same Doc Swinson's whiskey is at the heart of all their expressions, including the Exploratory Cask French Toasted Straight Bourbon. It's a blend of 2 MGP mash bills: the first consists of 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley, while the second is distilled from 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. French Toasted is the first release in their double-oak whiskey line, the expression focusing on French oak. After the whiskey spent at least 5.5 years in American white oak, it was transferred into medium-toasted new French oak casks from the Taransaud Cooperage that lies in the heart of Cognac, France. The wood from the Troncaise forest was seasoned for 3 years before being coopered into the casks. After 3 months of finishing, the straight bourbon gets additional mineral, sweet, and spicy notes from the cask, and is finally ready to be bottled at 110.6 proof.

There are not many things more American than bourbon, and although most of it is produced in Kentucky, it can be produced all over the USA. It must be made with at least 51% corn and bottled at 40% ABV or higher. So why not give this American classic a try?
The nose is creamy with vanilla, clove, and toasted nut aromas. The palate is equally creamy and oaky, the vanilla and clove notes joined by chocolate, stone fruit, and apple. The finish features a balance of sweetness, spice, and a touch of citrus.
