About Bruichladdich Octomore 15.3 Super Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700mL)
Introducing Bruichladdich Octomore 15.3, a whisky that redefines intensity! This super heavily peated Islay single malt boasts an astonishing 307.2 PPM, making it the second most peated Octomore release yet. Crafted with 100% Islay-grown Concerto barley sourced from Octomore Farm—just two miles from the distillery—it beautifully reflects its Islay roots. Distilled in 2018 from the 2017 harvest, and aged five years, the whisky matures in first-fill bourbon casks and Spanish Oloroso hogsheads from Jerez, adding layers of complexity. Bottled at a bold 121.6 proof, its robust character delivers a symphony of formidable smoke, ripe fruit, malty sweetness, and a kiss of salty sea spray. Each sip is a vibrant nod to Islay’s terroir, balancing power and finesse. Octomore 15.3 is a must for whisky lovers seeking unparalleled flavor and craftsmanship.

About Scotch
Scotch is the most popular whisky in the world and is considered the king of them all! There are five whisky regions in Scotland (six if you count the not officially recognized Islands), and each of them produces spirits with unique properties and distinct tasting notes. (The type of grain used determents the type of the scotch.)
Malt whisky is made of malted barley, and grain whisky uses other grains like corn or wheat. Most of the time, a whisky is blended from different distilleries hence the name blended scotch, but if a malt whisky is produced in a single distillery, we get something extraordinary called a single malt.
The nose is smoky with toffee, brown sugar, bread, and honey sweetness balanced by citrus, dried fruit, sea spray, cloves, nuts, and coconut. Look for butterscotch, vanilla, dried fruit, and orange zest on the oaky and smoky palate that leads to a long finish with burnt sugar, maritime notes, and plenty of earthy peat.
