About ASM American Single Malt Whiskey

ASM is a whiskey from the ever more popular and rapidly growing category of American single malt whiskeys. It starts with a premium 3-year-old whiskey that gets special treatment via proprietary filtration and finishing processes. This combination of traditional maturation and modern touches results in a unique expression that benefits from its secondary sherry cask finishing, while the filtration removes harshness and off-notes. Both the toast and char of the sherry cask oak are meticulously monitored, resulting in a rich and well-balanced American single malt whiskey that's bottled at 84 proof. The whiskey scored a Double Gold Medal at both the San Francisco World Spirits Competition as well as the New York International Spirits Competition in 2022.

About American Whiskey

There are two main representatives of the American whiskey family, bourbon, and rye, but some other spirits don't fall into those two strictly regulated categories.

There's equally strictly regulated American single malt, made from 100% malted barley, Tennessee whiskey, essentially bourbon filtered through maple charcoal and aged in new charred oak barrels.

And then there's moonshine, a high proof (150- 170 proof) distilled spirit mainly made out of corn which gained popularity during the prohibition.

Tasting Notes

Apricot, brioche bread, leather, cinnamon, and nuts lead the charge on the nose. The palate is pleasantly sweet and nutty with crème brûlée, melon, and orange zest notes. The finish is medium-long with toasted oak, chocolate, sherry, and a touch of smoke.
