About Arbikie Nàdar Gin

With Nàdar, meaning nature in Gaelic, the Stirling brothers harnessed the power of nature and science to create a gin that not only tastes delicious but also helps fight climate change and biodiversity loss. With a carbon footprint of -1.54 kg CO2e per 700ml bottle, this delicious gin prides itself as the world's first carbon-neutral, climate-positive gin. After five long years of research, Kirsty Black (the head distiller with a Ph.D. in Gin-making) and her team of Ph.D. students from Abertay University and The James Hutton Institute came up with this refreshing limited-edition, experimental batch distilled from peas. Why peas? Because they don’t need synthetic nitrogen fertilizer to grow, unlike traditional crops used for creating a base alcohol spirit. This gin is infused with botanicals such as lemongrass and citrus leaf, giving it a fresh, fruity flavor that plays out in a long, dry finish. Sip on it with a slice of lime, tonic, and ice!

About Arbikie

When it comes to distilling spirits, Arbikie takes a unique approach — one that is rooted (quite literally) in the vast and bountiful land that surrounds them. The three visionary brothers named John, Iain, and David have been tending to their 2,000 acres of land on the rugged Angus coast for over 350 years. And it's this wild terroir that gives their spirits their distinct character — the red sandstone-tinted soil, tempestuous weather, and its close proximity to the sea all come together to create a one-of-a-kind environment that imprints its mark on their spirits. And the Stirling brothers are more than up to the challenge. They call themselves "craftsmen of the soil," and for a good reason — they plant, sow, tend, and harvest every inch of their land. But the dedication of the Stirlings doesn't end there. Their commitment to a "field-to-bottle" approach is a reflection of their values of creativity, provenance, and authenticity, and it is clear that this dedication shows in the premium quality of their spirits.

About Gin

According to Winston Churchill, "The gin and tonic has saved more Englishmen's lives and minds than all the doctors in the Empire," referring to the British officers using it to treat malaria in India.

Initially made for medicinal purposes, gin gets most of its flavor from the juniper berries added after the distillation process. It sure has come a long way from the Middle Ages, with the introduction of new botanicals, fruits, and spices, bringing it closer to people of all flavor varieties.
