About Shinju Japanese Whisky

Shinju means pearl, and as the ancient Japanese believed that pearls were created from the tears of angels and born of the water, Shinju Japanese whisky is born of Mt. Fuji’s pristine alpine water. The distillery’s White Pearl is a proprietary blend of that water and four distinct whisky expressions carefully crafted by the master distiller.

Shinju is a modern Japanese whisky. The whisky is double distilled, and aged for 2–4 years in new and mature American white oak barrels, which gives it its rich caramel color and distinct flavor profile. This well-balanced and elegant expression was primarily developed to give the market a Japanese whisky suitable for cocktails, and it has rightfully clinched the title of best for cocktails on Liquor’s list of 10 essential Japanese whiskies to look for in 2021. However, Shinju is so uniquely smooth that it can also easily be sipped neat.

About Shinju Whisky

Shinju is a Japanese whisky crafted in the city of Nirasaki on the southeastern side of Mt. Fuji. This city in the Yamanashi Prefecture was selected as the site for the distillery for its climate, which is similar to Scotland’s, with cooler temperatures and less humidity than other areas of Japan. The area is also known for its pristine alpine water, and the distillery makes its whisky with the water from Mt. Fuji, Japan’s highest mountain and one of the Three Holy Mountains. The Shinju brand was created by Rogue Baron, a company that develops and invests in premium spirit brands in promising segments.

About Japanese Whisky

Although maybe not be the first Spirit you would think of when Japan is mentioned; the Japanese make one of the best types of whisky in the world. It’s heavily influenced by scotch but with smoother and delicate notes.

The history of the Japanese whisky is not even a century old, but in this short time, the Japanese blended and single malts have taken over the world by storm and can easily go against their whisk(e)y counterparts from across the globe.
