Metaxa is a famous Greek amber spirit that was first created by Spyros Metaxa in 1888. Today, Metaxa's lineup consists of several expressions that are based on a unique blend of Samos Muscat wines, aged wine distillates, and Mediterranean botanicals. These are crafted under the watchful eye of Metaxa Master Constantinos Raptis, the fifth to hold the position since the inception of the House and the one who chooses the Muscat wines from Samos as well as the wine distillates. Metaxa 12 Stars is a refined, well-aged version of the classic spirit, with the stars denoting more components as well as more time spent in oak, making for an elegant and mature expression that's bottled at 80 proof.
