About Labiette Castille VS Bas Armagnac

Founded in 1898 by an influential French statesman, the single estate that produces Labiette Castille Bas Armagnacs was purchased by the Lesgourges family in 1974. It is situated in the Bas Armagnac region, famous for having one of the finest terroirs of the Armagnac AOC (appellation d'origine contrôlée ― controlled designation of origin).

Located at the foot of the Pyrenees Mountains, the terroir features a mix of sand and clay that is perfect for vineyards ― on their 260 acres of vineyards you can find Ugni Blanc, Baco, Colombard, and Folle Blanche varieties. The environmentally friendly and sustainable estate has a flock of sheep grazing throughout, providing natural organic fertilizer. In 1998 a 40-acre forest was planted, providing oak for their very own cooperage. They pride themselves on their premium Armagnac with an emphasis on traceability, authenticity, and environmental friendliness. The design of the brand features a tribute to D'Artagnan, the famous musketeer.

Labiette Castille AOC Bas Armagnac VS is a blend of 15 brandies aged between 3 and 5 years. Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes are used predominantly, with some Baco and Colombard varieties. Each of these is distilled separately using an alembic column still, ensuring that the complex flavors and aromas remain in the distillate. Each eau-de-vie ages separately in Gascony oak casks before being blended by Cellar Master François Lasportes, crafting the fruity, floral, and balanced expression.

About Brandy

Brandy is typically produced from distilled wine and other fermented fruit juices like apples, pears, and other sweet fruits.

It is a perfect after-dinner digestif served neat or slightly warmed by holding the glass with your hands.

The kick can vary between 70-120 proof, and it gets its flavor from aging in wooden casks.
