Hugh Hamer Small Batch Rum Finish Straight Bourbon Whiskey revives the celebrated tradition of the Hamer family’s 19th-century distilling legacy in southern Indiana. Brought back to life by West Fork Whiskey Co. in 2019, this bourbon features a 99% corn and 1% malted barley mash bill, aged in #4 charred American oak barrels for over four years, then finished in Caribbean rum casks for one to two years. This unique rum cask finish infuses the bourbon with layers of tropical sweetness, enhancing its Indiana heritage with a fresh twist.

The nose is rich with sweet molasses, followed by hints of cane sugar and persimmon pudding. The palate introduces complex layers where rum spices and caramel intertwine, all balanced by the rich presence of oak. A mellow finish of sweet white and spiced rum complements the bourbon’s high-corn profile, adding a satisfying, tropical depth.
