About GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 8 Single Malt Scotch Whisky
The GlennAlachie distillery was revived in 2017 by Billy Walker, Trisha Savage, and Graham Stevenson. As the three were reviewing some old stock from 2007 and 2008, Walker realized that the samples were wonderfully balanced, and the Speyside whisky made it into the core range as the 10 Year Old Cask Strength. Over the next couple of years, several batches were released, garnering the most prestigious awards, including being named "World's Best Single Malt" at the World Whiskies Awards in 2021. GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 8 spent its decade in a combination of 3 casks: Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons as well as virgin oak Rioja casks. Bottled at a cask strength of 114.4 proof, it's a flavor-packed yet wonderfully balanced expression with notes of coffee, nuts, honey, dried fruit, berries, and baking spices.

About The GlenAllachie
Glenallachie is situated in Banffshire, at the foot of Ben Rinnes, neighboring several other distilleries. Founded in 1967 by Mackinlay McPherson Ltd Glenallachie is one of the youngest distilleries in Scotland. In 1989 Campbell Distillers acquired The GlenAllachie Distillery, starting production run that lasted for nearly 30 years.
In 2017 Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson came together to acquire the GlenAllachie facility reincarnating the distillery as The GlenAllachie Distillers Company Limited. The highly anticipated core range of the GlenAllachie distillery from Speyside was finally launched in July 2018.
The water for the distillery comes from the dam heads over 2 miles from the distillery. Henshead and Blackstank flow into Beachshach Burn, which supplies the water directly to the distillery, and sits on the North East of BenRinnes. The distillery was designed to be gravity fed, created with horizontal condensers that maintain a consistent temperature, or increase/decrease to alter the character of the spirit.
About Scotch
Scotch is the most popular whisky in the world and is considered the king of them all! There are five whisky regions in Scotland (six if you count the not officially recognized Islands), and each of them produces spirits with unique properties and distinct tasting notes. (The type of grain used determents the type of the scotch.)
Malt whisky is made of malted barley, and grain whisky uses other grains like corn or wheat. Most of the time, a whisky is blended from different distilleries hence the name blended scotch, but if a malt whisky is produced in a single distillery, we get something extraordinary called a single malt.
