About Downton Abbey Gin

Fresh limes and ginger root plucked from the Victorian hothouse combine with English rose water to deliver a truly distinctive, characterful Gin. Clocking in at 86 proof, this Downton Abbey Gin is a true gift for fans of the hit TV series, an authentic, high-quality spirit that evokes the flavors and style of the show's post-Edwardian era.

"We are the only distillery in the fictional Downton Abbey region, and we also have an ethos of super-local provenance and a "quality first" approach to distilling that half a century of experience brings to all our products,” says Harrogate Tipple founder Steven Green.

About Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey Premium Gin is meticulously created by Harrogate Tipple distillery co-owner and former Tanqueray master distiller Tom Nichol, using only the most beautiful fresh botanicals and Harrogate Spring Water from North Yorkshire right in the heart of ‘Downton Abbey Country’. Made with ginger, lime, and rosewater botanicals. Ripley Castle Estate in North Yorkshire is where Harrogate Tipple is based, sharing the same county as the fictional Downton Abbey estate.

About Gin

According to Winston Churchill, "The gin and tonic has saved more Englishmen's lives and minds than all the doctors in the Empire," referring to the British officers using it to treat malaria in India.

Initially made for medicinal purposes, gin gets most of its flavor from the juniper berries added after the distillation process. It sure has come a long way from the Middle Ages, with the introduction of new botanicals, fruits, and spices, bringing it closer to people of all flavor varieties.
