About Dewar's 15 Year Old The Monarch Blended Scotch Whisky (1.75L)
Dewar’s Scotch 15 Year is an intermediate expression, expanding upon the 12 and 18 year olds in the lineup. Mixed by Master Blender Stephanie Macleod, this single malt is a blend of up to 40 whiskies aged in ex-sherry and bourbon casks, then married together in oak casks. Blending is an art, finding harmony can be challenging as older and younger whiskies have their own unique characteristics. But Dewars has proved themselves masters of this alchemy with their world renowned line-up.

Dewar's was founded in 1846 when John Dewar began blending the finest whisky he could source in Scotland and bottling it with his own name on the label. By the turn of the century, the brand had expanded to become one of the best-selling whiskies in the world and today remains the best-selling Scotch whisky in the United States.
Scotch is the most popular whisky in the world and is considered the king of them all! There are five whisky regions in Scotland (six if you count the not officially recognized Islands), and each of them produces spirits with unique properties and distinct tasting notes. (The type of grain used determents the type of the scotch.)
Malt whisky is made of malted barley, and grain whisky uses other grains like corn or wheat. Most of the time, a whisky is blended from different distilleries hence the name blended scotch, but if a malt whisky is produced in a single distillery, we get something extraordinary called a single malt.
Toasty, nutty aromas and flavors of toasted raisin bread, butter roasted almonds, dried peach and apple, and leather with a silky, bright, dry-yet-fruity light-to-medium body and a warming, interesting, long honey toasted grain, almond milk, caramelized nuts, and grassy earth finish.
