About Cheurlin Thomas Le Champion Blanc de Noir Extra Brut Champagne

It all started in 1788 when a Catholic priest named Cheurlin started making champagne in Champagne, France. Today, the ninth generation of Cheurlins (let's just assume the family line wasn’t continued by his children) has taken over and it looks like the family is just getting started. The Cheurlins have become one of the biggest and most sought-after names in business, acquiring more and more land for their vineyards in the famous Aube region, known for the quality grapes it produces, and they have recently made it in American markets, with a little help from an NBA star Isaiah Thomas. Their Le Champion is an example of excellence: a 100% Pinot Noir Champagne, a grape that provides champagne with strength and unmatched complexity. Few Champagnes are made entirely with this grape and even fewer from grapes from this region. Wine is matured in stainless steel tanks with premature control. The second fermentation is in the bottle with an aging of a minimum of 18 months. The maturity of Champagne presents itself in its color, persistent bubbles, and intense flavor. This Champagne is Extra Brut: with ingredients of this quality, there is no need for extra sugars.

About Champagne

Champagne has been associated with royalties since the 17th century, still maintaining its glorious reputation.

The French take Champagne seriously, so coming from the Champagne region of France isn't the only requirement that keeps this drink from being "just sparkling wine." The rules of the appellation require specific vineyard practices, particular types of grapes, specific pressing methods, and secondary fermentation of wine.

This golden champagne has a beautiful aroma of red fruit, followed by subtle hints of earth and spice. The palate is extremely fresh and medium-bodied. You will taste frisky lemon peels with hints of earthy oak, followed by a pleasantly funky finish.
