About Stork House Smoky Rye Whiskey

Legend has it that the Laphroaig whisky casks possess mystical powers, endowing their contents with the rich flavors of South Islay's peat-rich wood. The savvy Stork Club crew seized this opportunity and secured some of these coveted casks. The result of their experimentation was the creation of the Smoky Rye — a remarkable blend of Islay peat smoke and their signature 100% German rye whiskey. The Laphroaig essence worked its magic in tandem with first-fill American oak and German Napoleon oak casks, producing a deliciously intricate spirit with hints of toffee, rye bread, and Parma ham, all laced with campfire aromas and a spicy aftertaste. About Rye

As American as the bald eagle, rye whiskey was first brewed in the American Northeast in the 1600s. Even George Washington distilled it after leaving the Oval Office, so there’s no way of denying its origin.
It’s distinguished from bourbon for its original and unique spicy notes.

By law, rye whiskey must be made from at least 51% rye grain, aged in new and charred oak barrels for at least two years, and bottled at no more than 62,5% ABV.

Tasting Notes
