About Porter's Modern Classic Gin
After Ben Iravani and Josh Rennie lauched their trendy bar in Aberdeen, Scotland in 2009 they decided to experiment with an ideal recipe of botanicals infusions and unique methods to extract the herbs and spices using a cold vacuum distillation. Together with university professor Andrew Porter they created a special vacuum still, subsequently naming their gin after him.The distillate used for Porter’s Gin is sourced from G&L Distillers near Manchester. This spirit is infused with juniper, coriander seed, angelica, licorice, citrus zest, almond, and cinnamon. These custom vacuum stills process pink peppercorn, cassia, and Buddha’s hand — a rare Asian citrus fruit with spindly fingers-like lobes. You can expect bright notes of citrus and baking spice with ample pink peppercorns, followed by crisp clean finish with a subtle lingering nuttiness.

About Gin
According to Winston Churchill, "The gin and tonic has saved more Englishmen's lives and minds than all the doctors in the Empire," referring to the British officers using it to treat malaria in India.
Initially made for medicinal purposes, gin gets most of its flavor from the juniper berries added after the distillation process. It sure has come a long way from the Middle Ages, with the introduction of new botanicals, fruits, and spices, bringing it closer to people of all flavor varieties.
