The Story

About Dos Primos Añejo Tequila

Dos Primos Tequila is crafted at Distilladora Gonzales Lux in Arandas, Jalisco. The tequila starts with a blend of agaves, sourced from estates in both Los Altos and the valley area of Jalisco, Mexico. After the agave piñas (hearts) are harvested using traditional coa knives, they are slowly cooked in a stainless steel oven. Then, the hearts are shredded in a mill, extracting the agave juice. The juice is fermented using the family's own yeast strain before being double-distilled, the entire process overseen by Master Distiller Rodolfo Gonzales. Dos Primos Añejo tequila then spends 13 months in ex-bourbon casks until it is finally bottled at 80 proof. The añejo won the coveted Double Gold medal at the 2023 edition of the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Dos Primos Tequila is a premium tequila brand, produced in Mexico. Dos Primos translates to "two cousins" as the brand was named after its two founders: country singer Thomas Rhett and his cousin Jeff Worn. Georgia-born Rhett signed his record deal when he was only 21 with his 16 of his singles topping Country Airplay charts. With a vision to create a tequila that would blend Mezican tradition with southern sensibility, Dos Primos is hand-grown, distilled and bottled by the fourth-generation tequila craftsmen from the Gonzalez family.

About Tequila
