About Don Ramon Platinium Reposado Cristalino Tequila

Distilled from 100% blue Weber agaves from Los Altos de Jalisco, Mexico, Casa Don Ramon crafts premium tequila. The agaves thrive in the special micro-climate and mineral-rich soil of the region as they slowly reach maturity over the course of a decade. Only then are they harvested by hand by the jimadores. Popular in Mexico, Don Ramon's Platinium series features 3 core expressions of tequila, the Reposado and Anejo being Cristalino tequila ― this means that the aged expressions get charcoal-filtered to remove the color and imperfections, resulting in a crystal-clear spirit with all the complexity found in rested and matured tequila. Double-distilled from blue Weber agaves, Don Ramon Platinium Reposado Cristalino is rested for 6 months in French and American oak casks, mellowing the spirit. It is then filtered, softening and sweetening the tequila and leaving it crystal-clear.

About Tequila

Although tequila has developed a bad reputation, there's more to the spirit than just shots on a Saturday night.

This traditional Mexican drink origins in the state of Jalisco when according to a local legend, lightning struck an agave cactus before the Nahua tribe drank its warm nectar. Behold, tequila.

Legally, tequila has to be made of 51% of Blue agave around the Jalisco region in Mexico. There are different types of tequila according to age - from the youngest representatives, blanco, reposado, and añejo, to the oldest extra añejo.
