About Brugal Maestro Reserva Rum (700mL)

The Maestro Reserva is a testament to Brugal's 135-year legacy of rum mastery. This luscious spirit is the brainchild of fifth-generation Maestra Ronera, Jassil Villanueva, who ingeniously employs Brugal's unique Dark Aromatic Toasting technique. By expertly marrying cask and flame, she coaxes out delicate caramel pearls from the finest American sherry oak casks, resulting in a rum that's as naturally sweet as it is complex. Maestro Reserva boasts a deep amber hue, whispering tales of rich caramel undertones. Its aroma seduces with oak and red fruits, balanced by whispers of smoke, caramel, and honey. On the palate, vanilla and caramel lead, followed by dried fruits and a hint of toasted nuts. The finish? A smooth, creamy symphony of vanilla and bitter brown sugar. Crafted for sipping, this masterpiece encapsulates Brugal's unwavering pursuit of excellence and innovation. Dive into a moment of mastery, five generations in the making.

About Rum

Rum history allegedly started in the Carribiens in the 17th century when they started to ferment and distill molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. Most of the Rum is aged in oak or ex-wine casks, giving its color and flavor.

We distinguish between 4 different Rum categories, where white or unaged rum is mainly used in cocktails, while dark, spiced, and añejo (aged) rum are mostly enjoyed neat.

The nose is rich and oaky with red fruit, a touch of smoke, caramel, and honey aromas. Look for vanilla and caramel on the palate, slowly giving way to dried fruit and toasted nuts. Oak, reed fruit, and orange zest lead to a rich, smooth, and creamy finish.
