About Bayab African Classic Dry Gin

Spearhead Spirits, a Pan-African liquor producer, is on a mission to enlighten the rest of the world about the premium spirits yet to uncover in all parts of the African continent. The mission: ‘champion authentic African flavors and celebrate African voices and stories.

Bayab African Gin is made in a state-of-the-art micro-distillery in Midlands, South Africa called, you guessed it - the Midlands Distillery. The small but might operation makes some serious African bespoke spirit brands using only the highest quality equipment to secure a brand’s vision from raw materials to the final tipple across all categories. Plus, they have a multi-column copper pot still named Watson that enables the production of all spirits. From vodka to gin! Not to be unnecessarily modest, for Midlands luxury is the direction.

The abundant African flora is to thank for the taste Bayab Gin. It’s made from various lush African botanicals, but the star of the palate here is the Baobab fruit from Zambia. There’s a Bayab gin for everyone and every occasion. There’s Classic Dry Gin, Blood Orange & Marula, and Rose gin. The Classic we have here is a hand-crafted, small-batch gin that reflects the Baobab tree in the name and the label design. Make this tasty African adventure your next dram destination.

About Gin

According to Winston Churchill, "The gin and tonic has saved more Englishmen's lives and minds than all the doctors in the Empire," referring to the British officers using it to treat malaria in India.

Initially made for medicinal purposes, gin gets most of its flavor from the juniper berries added after the distillation process. It sure has come a long way from the Middle Ages, with the introduction of new botanicals, fruits, and spices, bringing it closer to people of all flavor varieties.
