This is one of a two-part collaboration between the legendary rock band AC/DC and tequila producer Amber Production Tequila (previously known as Fabrica de Tequilas Finos). The latter is situated on the foot of Tequila Hill, in the equally legendary town of Tequila, Jalisco in Mexico, and is known for making top-quality agave products. Multiple award-winning tequilas are produced at the site where the delicate balance between modern mentality and traditional tequila-making is achieved by the highly dedicated team.
This particular expression is named after the famous 1990’s AC/DC song (thunderstruck) that needs little to no introduction. The iconic Australian rock band collaborated with Amber Production Tequila (previously known as Fabrica de Tequilas Finos) and the result is an edgy and delicious spirit even by the makers’ standards.
The crystal-clear hue of the bottled liquor gives straight lightning vibes, that are perfectly underlined by the illustrations on the truly funky packaging.
The AC/DC Thunderstruck Tequila Blanco is made out of 100% Blue Weaver agave. Or, more precisely - out of cooked agave hearts that brings the liquid such a specific aroma. It gives us a gentle and delicious spirit clocking in at just 40% ABV
About Tequila
Although tequila has developed a bad reputation, there's more to the spirit than just shots on a Saturday night.
This traditional Mexican drink origins in the state of Jalisco when according to a local legend, lightning struck an agave cactus before the Nahua tribe drank its warm nectar. Behold, tequila.
Legally, tequila has to be made of 51% of Blue agave around the Jalisco region in Mexico. There are different types of tequila according to age - from the youngest representatives, blanco, reposado, and añejo, to the oldest extra añejo.
