About 1800 Cristalino Tequila1800 Tequila is line of premium tequilas made from 100% Weber blue agave handpicked and harvested in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. 1800 Tequila is made to a 200-year old recipe at the oldest active distillery in Tequila, Jalisco – La Rojeña, which also produces other famous tequila brands such as Jose Cuervo and Gran Centenario. Launched in 1975 as Cuervo 1800 Tequila, the brand is named after the year when tequilas were first aged in oak casks. 1800 is owned by Proximo Spirits, which is controlled by the Beckmann family, 11th generation descendants of Jose María Guadalupe de Cuervo, the father of the Jose Cuervo brand and founder of La Rojeña.
1800 is one of the most awarded tequila brands. Its portfolio comprises unaged and aged tequilas, and a line of ready-to-serve margaritas. In addition to a traditional silver tequila, 1800 also makes a coconut infused unaged expression. Its reposado and aῆejo are matured in new American and French oak barrels for at least 6 or 14 months respectively, and 1800 Milenio is an extra-aged tequila finished in French oak Cognac barrels. 1800 tequilas come in a distinct trapezoidal bottle, inspired by centuries-old Mayan stone pyramids found throughout Mexico. The labels carry a crest with the words “Trabajo, Pasion, Honestidad” (Work, Passion, Honesty), honoring the tradition and hard work that go into making these premium tequilas.
1800 Cristalino is an innovative crystal-clear aged tequila, which is filtered after maturation, creating an expression with all the complexity of an añejo, and the silky smoothness of a blanco. The tequila is double distilled and aged in a combination of American and French oak barrels for 16 months, and then finished in Port wine casks for an additional 6 months. 1800 Cristalino comes in the signature bottle with a diamond pattern, inspired by the unique filtration process used in its making.
