About 1800 Coconut Tequila

First launched in 2012, 1800 Coconut Tequila is the first coconut-infused tequila in the world. It begins with 1800 Silver Tequila, a special blend of white tequilas that’s been named one of the world’s 20 best-tasting tequilas by Bloomberg Businessweek. It’s then infused with natural coconut flavors. Without any artificial flavors, this is a delicately sweet expression with a medium-bodied tropical taste. Incredible on the rocks, it really shines through in a tropical-forward cocktail.

About 1800

Launched in 1975 as a premium tequila brand, 1800 Tequila was first known as Cuervo 1800 Tequila. Today, it’s imported and distributed by the Beckmann family’s Proximo Spirits which also owns Jose Cuervo tequila.

1800 Tequila is a 100% blue agave tequila produced and bottled in Jalisco, Mexico. All their expressions come in the signature trapezoidal-shaped bottles, reminiscent of Mayan pyramids, with the top designed as a shot glass. Named after the year tequila was first aged in oak casks, it was Jose Antonio Cuervo of Jalisco who was first given the license for tequila-making by King Ferdinand VI of Spain. 1800 Tequila has garnered numerous international prestigious awards for its premium expressions.

About Tequila

Although tequila has developed a bad reputation, there's more to the spirit than just shots on a Saturday night.

This traditional Mexican drink origins in the state of Jalisco when according to a local legend, lightning struck an agave cactus before the Nahua tribe drank its warm nectar. Behold, tequila.

Legally, tequila has to be made of 51% of Blue agave around the Jalisco region in Mexico. There are different types of tequila according to age - from the youngest representatives, blanco, reposado, and añejo, to the oldest extra añejo.
