About Tequila Kostiv Añejo

Their lineup consists of 3 core expressions: Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo. The two aged variants bring a unique trick to the table, as they are both aged in wine barrels. The Añejo is a premium 80-proof tequila that has spent 18 months in hand-charred barrels that used to hold French Cabernet Sauvignon wine. Chill-filtered and bottled without any additives, this unique expression with oaky and dark fruit notes has won a Gold Medal at the 2020 edition of the Las Vegas Global Spirits Awards.

About Tequila Kostiv

Tequila Kostiv sprung from a decade-old friendship between Petro Kostiv and Saul Perez Ocampo. Kostiv is a global entrepreneur, Perez Ocampo a Master Distiller with plenty of experience crafting the famous Mexican spirit. It was when Perez Ocampo gifted a bottle of tequila to Kostiv that the seed for a premium tequila brand was planted. Kostiv was drawn to the spirit, prompting a series of visits to Jalisco, Mexico. The idea blossomed into a partnership and the partnership became Tequila Kostiv.

It's pure artisanal tequila, crafted in Amatitán, Jalisco, México. Made with 100% lowland agave from the local fields, the harvested piñas are roasted in brick ovens, then crushed in mechanized roller mills. Open-top fermentation takes place in wooden vats, after which the liquid is distilled twice in copper-pot stills. It's not just traditional, additive-free tequila ― there's a cause behind it as well. Kostiv wants the spirit to represent Mexican culture, heritage, and flavor. That is why the brand is involved with charity organizations such as the Mexican Red Cross, Home of the Belen Tijuana Mexico, and House of the Migrant Tijuana.

About Tequila

Although tequila has developed a bad reputation, there's more to the spirit than just shots on a Saturday night.

This traditional Mexican drink origins in the state of Jalisco when according to a local legend, lightning struck an agave cactus before the Nahua tribe drank its warm nectar. Behold, tequila.

Legally, tequila has to be made of 51% of Blue agave around the Jalisco region in Mexico. There are different types of tequila according to age - from the youngest representatives, blanco, reposado, and añejo, to the oldest extra añejo.

Vanilla, oak, and cherry aromas greet the nose. There's more vanilla on the palate along with fruity agave notes and oak. The finish is oaky and slightly spicy with the notes lingering.
