This expression is a blend of pot still rum, distilled from sugarcane juice, and column still rum, distilled from molasses. After being blended and aged for 5 years in ex-bourbon casks, the rum gets infused with chocolate habanero peppers and sweet orange peels.

About Pa'lante Habanero Rum

Pa'lante Habanero Rum is a flavored rum that is crafted at the Rones de México distillery. It starts with a blend of pot and column still rum, the first distilled from sugarcane juice, the second from molasses. After they are blended, they are aged in ex-bourbon casks. Then, the blend gets an infusion of chocolate habanero chili peppers, known to be more potent than their regular counterparts. Sweet orange peel is added as well, both ingredients sourced from nearby Chiapan farms. The 5-year-old expression is bottled at 70 proof and features a delicious balance of spicy, sweet, smoky, and citrusy notes.

About Rum

Rum history allegedly started in the Carribiens in the 17th century when they started to ferment and distill molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. Most of the Rum is aged in oak or ex-wine casks, giving its color and flavor.


We distinguish between 4 different Rum categories, where white or unaged rum is mainly used in cocktails, while dark, spiced, and añejo (aged) rum are mostly enjoyed neat.
