About Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 2008 Brut Champagne (6L)

Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Brut Champagne is crafted with 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, and 5% Pinot Meunier grape varieties. The Champagne is inspired by the House's first prestige bottling, the slender neck modeled after the historic release, which in turn took its cues from the historic Blason de France. The iconic floral patterns are the work of Art Nouveau master Emile Gallé, who painted the Japanese white anemones for the House in 1902. 2008 was marked by a cool and cloudy spring and similar summer with plenty of rain. Autumn was sunny and warm, however, eventually resulting in a vintage that is ranked among the best of the generation. This is the Methuselah (6L) version of this delicate, harmonious, and elegant cuveé.

About Champagne

Champagne has been associated with royalties since the 17th century, still maintaining its glorious reputation.

The French take Champagne seriously, so coming from the Champagne region of France isn't the only requirement that keeps this drink from being "just sparkling wine." The rules of the appellation require specific vineyard practices, particular types of grapes, specific pressing methods, and secondary fermentation of wine.

The nose of this silvery gold Champagne is vibrant, floral, fruity, and buttery with brioche and vanilla aromas. It's light and crisp on the palate with a balance of freshness and richness. Look for notes of linden blossom, pear, mandarin, and grapefruit zest, culminating in a long finish.
