About Mr. Black Single Origin Ethiopia Coffee Liqueur

Mr. Black was founded in 2013 as the passion project of designer Tom Baker and distiller Philip Moore, proprietor of Distillery Botanica, one of Australia’s highest-awarded distilling houses. The premium coffee liqueur is brewed at the Distillery Botanica facility in New South Wales, nearly 50 miles up the coast north of Sydney. Their goal is to make coffee liqueur as well-loved as coffee itself, taking inspiration from the rituals and experiences that come with coffee culture.

They have over 30 roasters, distillers, baristas, and coffee fanatics on their team today. Their liqueurs are hand-made with beans sourced ethically from the finest growing regions. Always fine-tuning the temperature, time, and water composition of the cold-brew process, their Head of Coffee Detlef Mohr and Master Distiller Philip Moore craft these unique liqueurs.

Mr. Black Single Origin Ethiopia is a part of their Single Origin lineup with beans sourced from the birthplace of coffee ― it was first discovered there in the 9th century. The Yirgacheffe region, known as "The King of Coffees" is famed for producing the finest 100% heirloom (Arabica) coffee available. The 50-proof liqueur is best enjoyed on its own, poured over ice.
