Born from the volcanic lowlands of the western state of Jalisco comes a phoenix named Maestro Dobel. A family-owned distillery reborn with each generation goes back to an impressive number of eleven generations. The masterful creator Juan Domingo Beckmann Legorreta (DOBEL) used his entrepreneurial spirit and stepped together with Maestros Marco Anguiano and Luis Yerenas—tequila savvy cats—to create one of the most premium blends of tequila in the world. Maestro Dobel 50 1967 Extra Anejo Tequila is perpetually in a birthday-party mood as it celebrates the 50th birthday of ‘el patron’ himself—Juan Dobel, who was born in 1967. This expression rested in French and American oak casks for three years before being gloriously finished in sherry casks. Bottled at 40% ABV, this celebratory drink will greet you with floral and vanilla notes on the nose and raise a toast to chocolate and toasted nut flavors on your palate. The brains behind this fine spirit is none other than Juan Domingo Beckmann Legorreta, the 11th-generation heir of the legendary Jose Cuervo dynasty. About Tequila

Although tequila has developed a bad reputation, there's more to the spirit than just shots on a Saturday night.

This traditional Mexican drink origins in the state of Jalisco when according to a local legend, lightning struck an agave cactus before the Nahua tribe drank its warm nectar. Behold, tequila.

Legally, tequila has to be made of 51% of Blue agave around the Jalisco region in Mexico. There are different types of tequila according to age - from the youngest representatives, blanco, reposado, and añejo, to the oldest extra añejo.

Tasting Notes

Vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon aromas greet the nose, followed by overripe fruits, hints of cloves, and toasted coconut. The palate is met with Christmas flavors of nutmeg and ginger, followed by butter and orange peel accents. It finishes with coffee and nougat close, with a slight punch of golden syrup.
