About Lobos 1707 Tequila Extra Añejo

It's the wolves on the Osorio family's coat of arms that served as the inspiration for the brand's image. The bottles take this further, with the hue of each expression signifying its origin. While their lineup is missing an Añejo tequila, fret not ― the Extra Añejo is there to satiate the thirst for well-rested Mexican spirit. Its bronze hue is a reference to the scorching Jalisco sun that ensures the 100% blue Weber agaves achieve the perfect ripeness. Aged for 3 years in American white oak and finished in PX wine barrels, this masterfully-crafted 80-proof spirit is fragrant, complex, and masterfully balanced.

About Lobos 1707

Lobos 1707 is an independent brand that was launched in 2020 as a joint venture between founder and Chief Creative Officer Diego Osorio and CEO Dia Simms, with backing from basketball icon LeBron James. Connecting New York, Los Angeles, and Mexico City, the spirits brand is focusing on premium tequila and mezcal.

The idea behind Lobos (Spanish for wolves) stems from Osorio's great-great-grandfather who was transporting tequila to Spain in Sherry barrels, quickly learning that the oak transformed the spirit into something uniquely smooth and elegant. It's this tradition that has led to Osorio replicating the recipe with traditional tequila from Altos de Jalisco and Oaxaca, Mexico. Lobos 1707 tequila and mezcal get finished in Pedro Ximenez (PX) wine barrels.

About Tequila

Although tequila has developed a bad reputation, there's more to the spirit than just shots on a Saturday night.

This traditional Mexican drink origins in the state of Jalisco when according to a local legend, lightning struck an agave cactus before the Nahua tribe drank its warm nectar. Behold, tequila.

Legally, tequila has to be made of 51% of Blue agave around the Jalisco region in Mexico. There are different types of tequila according to age - from the youngest representatives, blanco, reposado, and añejo, to the oldest extra añejo.
