About Cava de Oro Añejo Tequila

Cava de Oro Tequila has its roots in the early 1990s when Gildardo Partida and Leticia Hermosillo started cultivating blue Weber agaves. A small alembic was installed in the Casa Cava de Oro, followed by equally small bottling equipment. Experimentation and ingenuity soon gave birth to a different kind of tequila expression. Engineer Gildardo Partida Meléndrez and Tequila Master Alberto Partida crafted a premium tequila that was matured in red wine casks, resulting in a unique spirit that called for an equally special bottle design with a pioneering touch ― the spirit flows in the specially-designed bottle cap as well, this portion of the liquid serving as a gift for anyone who acquires a bottle. Naturally, the production process employs traditional methods that include slowly cooking the agaves, grinding the fibers using a tahona mill, natural fermentation, and distillation using copper pot stills over low heat. Cava de Oro Añejo Tequila spends 24 months in French white oak casks, resulting in a silky spirit with a long and sweet finish that's bottled at 76 proof.
