Known for its straw hats, woolen blankets, and fertile land, the Arandas municipality in Jalisco, Mexico, is home to Baluarte Spirits, boasting three notable Tequilas—Añejo, Blanco, and Reposado. All these Mexican knights are joined by their incredible agave, grown at the right altitude, with the perfect acidity and pleasant agave climate of warm days and cold nights. The Baluarte Tequila uses a brick oven method for cooking agave, giving its spirit a distinctive flavor with magnificent herbal notes and the sweetness of cooked agave. Baluarte Añejo Tequila is made exclusively from 100% Blue Weber agave. This spirit is meticulously aged for 15 months in American oak barrels, contributing to its smooth and intricate aroma. Notes of oak and vanilla are detectable, as are hints of aromatic herbs such as rosemary. A true testament to the art of patience and aging, Baluarte Añejo delivers a decadent flavor present on the palate long after the last sip.

About Tequila
Although tequila has developed a bad reputation, there's more to the spirit than just shots on a Saturday night.
This traditional Mexican drink origins in the state of Jalisco when according to a local legend, lightning struck an agave cactus before the Nahua tribe drank its warm nectar. Behold, tequila.
Legally, tequila has to be made of 51% of Blue agave around the Jalisco region in Mexico. There are different types of tequila according to age - from the youngest representatives, blanco, reposado, and añejo, to the oldest extra añejo.
Soft and silky aromas greet the nose with oak and vanilla notes, followed by faint hints of rosemary. The palate boasts an extraordinary flavor of cooked agave, sweet caramel, banana, oak, and cherry accents. Its finish is long and soothing, befitting a true añejo.
